My favorite Joe Jr story

Sorry, Joe Jr, but you knew it had to come out sooner or later. Just remember that I love you, son.

My favorite Joe Jr story happened one of the first times we went swimming down at the old quarry. Of course you have to be real careful when swimming in a big old hole like a quarry, but we have always loved swimming and have always been strong swimmers. I kept Joe Jr close to me while we were in the water.

One days, it had to be in August, because it was so blame hot outside, we were down at the quarry swimming hole. We saw a snake. Now don't get excited. It wasn't a poisonous snake. It was just a little baby garter snake. Nothing to worry about.

Joe Jr and I saw the snake slithering along the rocks on the side of the quarry wall. He (the snake) was not in the water, so we got a real good look at him. We actually swam over to get within 10 feet of where he was crawling before he got sacred and left.

Now here's the funny part. Joe Jr had never seen a snake or heard talk of such a creature before that day. It was so cute because he thought the snake was all (use your own favorite word for the male sexual organ, I'm not typing mine here) and said so to his mama. He took a little bit to figure what we were all laughing about and then the questions started flying.

Joe Jr knows what a snake is now, and I sure he knows the difference now.

Sorry boy, but your mama always loved that story. She loved you and so do I.

Don't laugh too hard, Jane Elizabeth, your story is my next one to tell!

Hello Friends and Family

I hope not to be so longwinded here. I will try to not to take so many detours as I am telling my stories.

As you all know I can be verbose and not always to the point. Having to type all this out SHOULD make my stories easier on the lot of you. Those who enjoy longer versions will just have to fill in from memory.

I am posting here as a way to create and preserve some memories for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (no great-greats yet, but that can change any time now.)

For starters, I just want you all to know that I love you all very much and, when I go to my reward, I will miss each and every one of you until we are reunited in heaven. Please do not mourn me forever. I have had a full life so far and life is still good. We will not be apart forever.

That is all for right now. Love, Grampa Joe
